The Art People Gallery is thrilled to collaborate with artist Lisa Wong on her new body of work “Nighttime Spells”.
Under the government ordained closure, Lisa finds these trying times had given her the space to reflect in her own garden. Together with her dog taking nighttime walks in her garden, she saw a different perspective - it is within those enclosed, personal, space that she drew the ideas of magic realism from the ordinary: from the occasional swooping of a bat, to the cry of cicadas chorusing in the abyss of the dark.
In the obscurity of the night, the magic happens where she creates her own mythical version of an existing space, onto canvases.
The works will be on view from 5th May - 5th June, 2020, this will be Lisa’s 1st online solo exhibition on Artsy.
